Katarina Kjell is a licensed clinical psychologist and a PhD student in psychology at Lund University. She also works as an AI strategist at Region Skåne, bringing her research and clinical experience to how AI is used in health care.

Her research focuses on assessing mental health problems, such as depression and anxiety, through people’s own descriptions in natural language, and on what it takes to use AI safely and ethically in research and clinical practice – including compliance with AI regulations. She has co-authored work on language-based mental health assessments and the LEADING reporting guideline, and is one of the instructors of the Coursera specialization The Mental Health Clinician and AI.

In her non-academic time, she likes being with her family, gardening and flowers.
